Natural light washes into this space through wide windows along the front, and three-high window stacks that flank the woodstove alcove. Cultured stone veneer adds rustic charm to the wall behind the woodstove, just as it does to the entire chimney outside.
   A single post and a drop in ceiling height accent the transition between the great room and dining room/kitchen. Standing at the stove-top work island, you can survey the entire gathering space, while dishing up informal meals at the raised eating bar. A roomy walk-in pantry is nearby.
